*Captain Christopher Moody was an Irishman and was very active as a pirate off the Virginia and Carolina coasts in 1717 and 1718. In October of 1718 he lost his command after a failed attempt to repeat Blackbeard’s siege of Charles Towne. In 1720 Moody joined up with the infamous Bartholomew Roberts (Black Bart) and soon became first mate. In March, 1722, Robert’s was killed in battle and his crew was captured and hanged. Although Christopher Moody and 5 other pirates managed to escape they were soon caught and suffered the same fate as the others. Moody was 28 years old when he died.
