Four haunting stories on one DVD. The first story, winner of a 2004 Telly Award, is of Blackbeard the pirate, whose death marked the end of the "Golden Age of Pirates". Many ships and sailors fell victim to his greed and cruelty in the waters around Cape Henry. His head was displayed on a stake near the Customs office as a warning to all pirates, but it disappeared. The second story is a brief history of the U.S. Lifesaving Service and the surfman whose ghost still keeps a lookout from the Old Coast Guard Station in Virginia Beach. Many people have seen him and/or felt his presence. The third story tells about Grace Sherwood, known as the Witch of Pungo. After years of accusations that she caused corn to blight, cows to go dry, changed herserself into a black cat, and even sailed to England and back overnight in an eggshell, Grace was given the trial by water to determine if she really was a witch. She survived the ordeal and her legend has survived the centuries. This story was awarded a Telly Award in 2006. The final story will take you into the most haunted house in Virginia Beach, the ferry plantation house, where at least eleven spirits are known to roam. It's a nice place to visit, but don't overstay your welcome.
